We build software for the parts of a business that drown in documents and data — and consult on the same problems for organizations that would rather not build it themselves.
The idea
Why an aperture
The mark is a camera iris: thin blades closing around a point of light. It isn’t a letter and it isn’t a robot. It’s a picture of what the software does — take an overwhelming amount of material and bring the part that matters into focus.
That’s the whole thesis of the company. Most organizations don’t have an information shortage. They have a focus problem, and the information they need is already sitting in a folder nobody has time to open.
The approach
Products first, advice second
We started by building our own software, and the consulting practice grew out of it. That order matters. Running a production system teaches you things a strategy engagement never will — what breaks, what users quietly refuse to adopt, and how much of an AI project is actually the unglamorous data plumbing underneath.
So when we tell a client something will be harder than it looks, it’s usually because we’ve already been wrong about it once, at our own expense.

A modest system in daily use is worth more than an impressive prototype nobody adopted. We optimize for the version that survives contact with real users.
